Fans raised the roof at Manda'alor Sports Bar at the Mandos weekly press conference, as Coach Luke Brand and his star QB Lem Rorex entered the room. Fresh off a four game winning streak, Mandos fans have plenty to be happy about.
The Mandos added two more tallies in the win column, starting by outbrawling the Footbrawlers, a particularly sweet victory following Sonny Fontenot's remarks on Coach Brand's coaching style. Brand proceeded to fire another shot in his war of words with Fontenot.
"He wants ta' say I phone it in. Well, he was there, I was there, an' I let th' scoreboard do my talkin' fer me. My boys, they were kinda riled up after hearin' Fontenot run his mouth. They seemed ta' have th' time of their lives thumpin' on his guys.
As for th' cracks he's makin 'bout somethin extra Bein' in our Gatorade, well, that's just sore losin'. Reminds me, there was this kid in th' neighborhood when I was growin' up. If'n he wasn't winnin' at whatever damn game we were all playin, he'd say we was all cheatin' an' go home. What's next, Fontenot's gonna say he won't play unless we let him win?"
Brand then announced that all coolers, bottles, cups and other vessels used to serve Gatorade on both sidelines at the Temple during the Ferndale game have been collected and locked in a secure location selected by SFL officials at Brand's own request.
"Fontenot wants ta make his little allegations, well, fine. That stuff's locked up where noone, even me, c'n get at it an' th' SFL can test it for whatever they want, whenever they want."
Star QB Lem Rorex had a few words of his own to say about the effect of Fontenot's remarks leading up to the Ferndale game.
"I can't speak for my teammates, but I know I wanted to go the extra mile to beat Ferndale because of the crap Fontenot keeps coming up with about us and Coach Brand. That guy's turning into a bigger loudmouth than Colby.
As for the Gatorade, I never touch the stuff. I was drinking Bawls all night."
The Mandalorians continued their 4-0 winning streak by recycling the Bud Light 40s 27-13.
