Rookie QB Kelly Dory really stepped up to the line of scrimmage and delivered the Smackdown of the Week to the Hookers defense, throwing for 419 yds. and 5 TD's on 36 of 48 pass attempts. He was declared the game MVP at halftime.
Dory then delivered some smack talk at the post game press conference, saying "I thought this was supposed to be a tough team. What gives?" Dory continued by saying, "That, my friends, was a lot of fun. It seemed like a 3/4 speed practice out there. I certainly hope this is not the best this league has to offer, otherwise I will be bored outta my gourd by mid-season. I do however, have to give a lot of the credit to my offensive line. They kept me upright and lonely in the backfield the entire game. Weber and McKinnon are doing great on the edges, and the veteran interior guys know exactly how their positions should be played. Party at my house tonight, fellas. You bring the bitches, I'll bring the booze."
Brazen smack talk from the rookie QB...but then again, this is the SFL. Pretty much anything goes.
Grace ran for 107 yds. and 2 TD's, giving him 5 on the young season. Rookie WR Randy Cotchery caught 9 of Dory's passes for 110 yds. and 2 scores. Cotchery was almost reached for comment. Luscious caught 10 passes for 147 yds. and a TD, but unfortunately caught something else while mixing it up with a Hooker cheerleader prior to the game. Team doctors say that it is a new strain of STD they are not sure how to battle. We will keep you informed of his status for next week's game.
Last week, Brawlers tight end Nino Daley went out 4 games with a broken wrist, and during this game backup tight end Willie Alpha went down for 5 games with a hip injury. That left the team with 3rd stringer Joe Zelenka, who is basically only on the team because Chuck said so (still no word on who Chuck is). The Brawlers will be looking to pick up a TE in FA. Our sources report that they are trying to claim All-Pro CFL tight end Zach Martin off waivers. We'll keep you posted on that development.
The Footbrawlers will be traveling to Kelly Dory's backyard in Albuquerque. Albuquerque is reportedly using several of the midgets that Dory played with in college...the same midgets he blasted in his first post-game interview. This should be interesting.
