Well, Papa John's screwed up twice over one dumb T-shirt
A Papa John's manager in Washington had t-shirts printed up that looked like LeBron James's jersey, only it said CRYBABY where the name usually goes, and had the Papa John's logo over that. Well, he only printed up eight shirts, but a Wizards fan got her hands on one and took it to a Cavs/Wizards game. The shirt wound up being shown on national TV, and Papa John's corporate headquarters was flooded with calls and emails from angry LeBron fans.
So to save face, corporate headquarters denied any knowledge of the shirts before one got shown on TV, and decided to try to make amends by offering 23 cent one topping pizzas in Papa John's restaraunts in Ohio, and to then donate the money to charity.
It backfired bigtime. There's a Papa John's in the plaza next to where I work, and there were people waiting in long lines for up to three hours for their cheap pizza, then the restaraunt ran out of ingredients and had to close. We hear a fight almost broke out. I passed another Papa John's on the way home from work, and it was closed, with people driving through the parking lot in hopes of them being open, despite the large CLOSED sign out by the street.

There's a Papa John's down by where I get my haircut, it was madness! I don't care how cheap the pizza was it's not worth a 3 hour wait in a light sprinkle on a chilly day.

I wouldn't wait an hour for free pizza, let alone 3 hours for cheap pizza.

Lack of ingredients. Suicidal prices. Papa John's.

There's a guy in my anime club who works at a Papa John's. He said he told his manager that if this ever happens again, he's quitting on the spot.
He also said that corporate Papa John's is holding the one guy in Washington (who printed up the shirts) responsible, and apparantly he's been fired (or had his franchise stripped from him, or whatever.......) and has to pay out of his own pocket to reimburse the company for their losses. Sounds like this guy went from being some kind of regional Papa John's manager, to being penniless, just like that.

Now that's a crock a shit, he made like 8 shirts total. And it sure as hell wasn't his damn stupid fault for 23 cent pizza. The minute I heard about that I knew it was a bad idea and I hadn't even heard about the lines at the time. The guy made some people mad, oh well tough luck for Cavs fans. PAPA JOHNS decided to sell their pizza for 23 cents knowing they would lose alot of money... their fault not his.
